About IBPS Rural Regional Banks (RRB) Exam

IBPS conducts common examination for recruitment of officers, office assistants and clerical grade for various RRBs and has been approved by NABARD. IBPS currently has mandate of all the RRBs and number goes beyond 60 of the participating banks from all over the country . Aim & Achieve provides personal classroom coaching for IBPS RRB at its Delhi centres.

Candidates can apply for following posts in various RRBs

  • Office Assistant (multi-purpose)
  • Officer Scale I
  • Officer Scale II
  • Officer Scale III

Candidate can apply for office assistant (Grade B) and simultaneously for any one of the officer scale (Grade A).

Eligibility Criterion

  • Nationality/Citizenship : A candidate must be either
    • a Citizen of India or
    • a subject of Nepal or
    • a subject of Bhutan or
    • a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or
    • a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India
  • Age (for general category) – Age relaxation may vary from category to category
    • For Officer Scale- III, Above 21 years - Below 40 years
    • For Officer Scale- II, Above 21 years - Below 32 years
    • For Officer Scale- I, Above 18 years - Below 28 years
    • For Office Assistant, Between 18 years and 28 years
  • Language Proficiency - The candidates for Officer Scale I and Office Assistants are required to possess proficiency in the local language of the State / UT for which vacancies he / she wishes to apply. (The condition does not apply for the posts of Officer Scale II and III). For ensuring proficiency in local language, the candidate should have passed 10th standard exam with local language as a subject.

  • Penalty for wrong answer - There will be penalty for wrong answers, for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one fourth of the marks assigned to that question, will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate; there will be no penalty for that question.
  • Cutoff Score - Each candidate will have to secure a minimum score in each test and also on total. The cut-off points to qualify in each of the tests will be decided based on the average (Average – ¼ Standard Deviation for General category candidates and Average – ¾ Standard Deviation for Reserved Category candidates).
  • CWE Score - The corrected scores obtained by each of the candidates in different sessions (if held) will be normalized using equi-percentile method.
  • Validity of CWE Scores - Score issued by IBPS will be valid for one year from the date of display of the Score on IBPS’s website and will be considered for recruitment exercises by the RRBs during that period.
