    Jan Dhan Yojana:
    The prime minister Mr Narendra Modi launched a Jan Dhan Yojana and declard the beginning of the end of financial untouchability in India with opening of estimated 1.5 crore bank accounts across the country.

     Kannada writer Passed Away:
    Sh U.R. Ananthamurthy,contemporary writer,critic  one of the pioneers of Navya Movement passed away.He was nominated for 2013 Man Booker International Award.He had also won Padma Bhusan in1998 and Jnanpith Award in 1994.

    Measures to curb illicit pooling schemes:
    The Govt has notified more power to SEBI  to clamp down on illicit money-pooling schemes and other frauds.The Regulator can pass the order for attachment of properties , arrest of defaulters and to access call data records.
